Invitation to a press-conference: Promotion of the campaign titled “Macedonia has love for all”

The Helsinki Committee for Human Rights of the Republic of Macedonia and the LGBTI Support Centre are honored to invite you to a press-conference taking place on the 7th of November 2013, at 12:00 in the EU Info Centre in Skopje (address: Mito Hadzivasilev Jasmin 52v, 1000 Skopje). The press-conference is dedicated to the promotion of the campaign “Macedonia has love for all”.

            Due to the necessity for condemnation of violence, awareness-raising and promotion of tolerance, the LGBTI Support Centre and the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights of the Republic of Macedonia, with the support of Front Line Defenders (FLD), created the radio and internet campaign “Macedonia has love for all”. This campaign is primarily focused on the condemnation of violence and giving support to LGBTI people.

            “Macedonia has love for all” consists of two parts. The first part is already ongoing and shows the personal experiences of LGBTI people and their close ones. The second part of the campaign is focused on celebrities which express their support for LGBTI people, and also condemn the violence.

The radio is a medium which can reach a larger audience, hence, this campaign can help change the public discourse and pressure the authorities to prevent violence and hold responsible those who have committed acts of violence.

On the website of the campaign, whose address is  http://www.radiohrd.org/macedonia/index.html, there is a Petition which demands that the Prime Minister and the Government of the Republic of Macedonia do all in their power to conduct an effective investigation and punish the perpetrators.
